Just weeks after sweeping music charts with their #1 album Settle, Disclosure have moved on to another feat: their own imprint. The duo announced the debut of Method Records, and have chosen anonymous producer Friend Within to properly start things off with the first release. While Friend Within’s identity is unknown, the artist has made quite a name for himself through his various releases for Pets Recordings, dirtybird, and Purp & Soul.
While the 4-track EP isn’t due out until August, we’re left to make due with one FW track: a re-fix of Wildchild’s 1995 hit “Renegade Master” (labeled on the upcoming record as simply “The Renegade”), layering the iconic lyrics atop his distinct booming, bouncy bass-line. This re-fix actually first made an appearance in the online world back in November of last year as part of the #Unknown series, when it was just an uploaded track with no name or artist, so many are relieved to finally get an answer almost a year later.
